On 16 and 17 October, the Council Meeting of the German Society for Positioning and Navigation (DGON) took place at Braunschweig Research Airport. The DGON was founded in 1951 and is an international network of experts in the field of positioning and navigation. It organises national and international conferences every year and is divided into three commissions for aviation, shipping and land transport, as well as five specialised committees. Members of the council include the co-founder and chairman of the supervisory board of Aerodata AG, Prof. Peter Vörsmann, and the CEO and president, Neset Tükenmez.
The kick-off on Thursday gave participants their first insights into Braunschweig Research Airport and the diverse activities at the site. During technical tours of the German Aerospace Centre and the Technical University of Braunschweig, they were able to experience current research projects and application examples up close.
On Friday, the meeting continued at our premises under the chairmanship of Council Chairman Holger Klindt. Neset Tükenmez also presented Aerodata's areas of expertise. Of particular interest was the specialist presentation by Mirko Stanisak, systems engineer and project manager at Aerodata AG, on our GPS-Anti-Jamming Solution for central aviation.
Council Chairman Holger Klindt emphasised: ‘Without exception, the council members were really impressed by the wide range of insights into the diverse activities at Braunschweig Research Airport. The location is a successful example of forward-looking economic development in the field of aviation.’
We were delighted to host the event at our premises.
