Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
A full-time position as a systems engineer (m/f/d) is available in the Competence Center System Engineering department as of April 1, 2026.
Your tasks:
- Development and investigation of country-specific operational concepts in the context of sovereign tasks for monitoring and securing land and sea borders, for example
- Development of system concepts for the collection, evaluation, storage, and distribution of data on board unmanned systems
- Collaboration on system-of-systems concepts for the development of distributed systems, especially in the field of information management, as well as derivation of system specifications and system designs
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Support for the implementation of system designs in hardware and software solutions, e.g., in the development and implementation of algorithms for pattern recognition, generation of situation pictures, and mission planning
- Testing and validation of the developed systems
- Documentation of the development processes
Your profile:
- Completed engineering degree with a focus on aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of systems engineering; experience in model-based systems engineering is a plus
- Knowledge of data storage and management
- Knowledge of algorithm development, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Knowledge of UAV technologies and communication protocols (wide area, local area)
- Experience in aviation and experience with the development and certification of safety-related applications are desirable
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
